The founder and principal of TPD Consulting, Paul Khoo has 22 years experience successfully commercialising technology start-up companies, from laboratory to high volume manufacture.  Paul's experience is in R&D, product and process development, high-volume manufacturing and technology transfer, setting up manufacturing facilities in Australia and overseas.

 

Paul had worked 9 years at CAP-XX as VP Operations and VP Engineering, worked with CAP-XX R&D team developing CAP-XX's Supercapacitor technology acknowledged to be the world's technical leader. Paul was responsible for the product re-design suitable for high volume manufacture, developed manufacturing processes and equipment and transformed CAP-XX manufacturing from laboratory handmade prototypes to viable high volume manufacturer. Paul selected and set up CAP-XX's contract manufacturer in Penang, Malaysia and completed technology transfer to Murata Manufacturing Corp of Japan as part of licensing arrangement.

 

Prior to CAP-XX, Paul had worked 13 years at Memtec Ltd. There, he developed Memcor's world class polymeric microporous hollow fibre membrane manufacturing process(patents granted)  and scaled up manufacturing capability from laboratory to high volume manufacture. Paul also ran Memtec's membrane operations and scaled up manufacturing 500 fold, improved yield (from 40% to 95+%), uptime (from 50% to 85+%) and reduced costs 10% year on year for 5 consecutive years. Memtec's Memcor Division is now owned by Siemen's Technologies.
